I actually remembered Teri from over the years, so I was a TINY bit excited when she emailed me about photographing their fall wedding.

And after spending time with these two during their engagement session, I was even more excited to photograph their wedding day.

A Fun Fall Engagement Session in Northern California

Fall is, without question, my favorite time of year for photos.

I love the warm colors, the changing leaves, and that coolness in the air that makes everything feel cozy and romantic. There’s just something about autumn that creates the perfect atmosphere for an engagement session.

Brent and Teri’s session had all of that beautiful fall goodness—and a little extra personality too.

Because they brought their precious pup!

Including Your Dog in Your Engagement Photos

You already know I’m a sucker for a cute dog showing up to a photography session. 🐾

Brent and Teri included their sweet pup in their engagement photos, and I absolutely loved it. Pets are part of the family, so I always think it’s fun when couples choose to include them in such an important season of their lives.

And then there was the bicycle.

I mean… c’mon!

The sweet bicycle was such a fun addition and gave their engagement photos even more personality. Little details like that can make a photography session feel so much more personal and unique.

One of my favorite things about engagement photography is that there really isn’t one right way to do it.

You can dress up.

You can bring your dog.

You can bring a bicycle.

You can choose your favorite season and create photos that feel completely like the two of you.

The best engagement photos aren’t about copying someone else’s Pinterest board exactly. They’re about creating an experience that feels natural and reflects your relationship.

Brent and Teri did exactly that.

Their session was relaxed, fun, full of personality, and filled with the kind of happiness that makes my job pretty darn great.
