As a Medford Oregon engagement photographer, I get to photograph couples in some pretty incredible places—but there’s something especially beautiful about a sunset session with Table Rock in the background.

Elijah and Lydia are simply adorable. Their young love is playful, fun, and easy, and they were an absolute joy to photograph.

We spent the evening together with beautiful scenic Table Rock creating the perfect backdrop for their engagement photos. Between the gorgeous scenery, dreamy sunset light, and these two being completely themselves, this session was pretty darn magical.

Table Rock is one of those Southern Oregon locations that gives you such a beautiful combination of open scenery and dramatic views.

For Elijah and Lydia’s engagement session, we timed everything around the evening light—and it did not disappoint.

As the sun started to get lower, everything softened into that dreamy glow photographers are always chasing. ✨

One of the things I loved most about photographing Elijah and Lydia was how easygoing they were.

They trusted me.

And honestly, I think that makes such a difference during a photography session.

I always have ideas floating around in my head, and sometimes those ideas involve asking people to do things that might sound a little silly at first. 😂

Walk this way.

Stand over there.

Get really close.

Whisper something ridiculous.

Run toward each other.

Look at each other… but don’t look like you’re posing.

You get the idea.

I truly believe that coming into a session with a vision is wonderful, but having a super narrow vision for every single photo can sometimes limit creativity.

The best moments often happen when we leave a little room for the unexpected.

Elijah and Lydia were completely open to having fun, trying different things, and trusting me behind the camera—and I’m SO happy with the results.

You don’t always need multiple elaborate outfits or something overly formal to create beautiful photos. Sometimes choosing clothing that feels comfortable and fits naturally with the location is exactly what you need.

Their simple outfits allowed the focus to stay where it belonged: on their connection and the beautiful Southern Oregon scenery around them.

Sunset is one of my favorite times for an outdoor engagement session.

The light becomes softer, warmer, and more flattering, and the entire landscape starts to feel a little magical.

For this session, that dreamy evening light paired perfectly with Elijah and Lydia’s playful connection.

There was laughter.

There was snuggling.

There was plenty of love.

And there were two people who were simply having fun together.
