One of my favorite things about being capturing maternity portraits in Southern Oregon is getting to see past clients return as their lives change and grow.

I originally photographed Becca and Tyler’s wedding, so getting the opportunity to photograph them again as they prepared to start their family felt incredibly special.

They are always such fun and sweet people to work with, and I was so happy to be part of another important chapter in their story.

From Wedding Photos to Maternity Photos

There is something really meaningful about photographing people through different seasons of their lives.

First, it’s an engagement session.

Then a wedding.

And before you know it, you’re photographing them as they prepare to welcome a brand-new little person into their family.

Being invited back for those moments is something I never take for granted.

Becca and Tyler have always been wonderful to photograph, and this maternity session was no exception.

Stylish Autumn Maternity Photos in Southern Oregon

Becca has always had amazing style, and she absolutely brought it to her maternity session.

Her outfit choices gave us so much variety and helped create completely different looks throughout the evening.

She started with a beautiful cream sweater dress and a cream fedora, creating a soft and stylish look that worked beautifully with the autumn scenery.

Then she changed things up.

And wow.

A Glamorous Sequin Maternity Dress

Becca pulled out a completely glamorous sparkly sequin dress, and it was stunning.

Against the dry grass backdrop, the dress created such a fun contrast.

I absolutely love when clients aren’t afraid to bring a little personality and fashion into their photography session.

Maternity photos can be soft and natural.

They can be elegant.

They can be dramatic.

They can be glamorous.

There really aren’t any rules about what your session has to look like.

And because I’m always happy when clients bring their dogs along, their sweet pup joined us too.

Including your dog in maternity photos is such a fun way to document your family exactly as it exists before your newest member arrives.

Your dog has been part of your story too.

And someday, those photos will show an entire chapter of your family’s life—the moments before everything changed in the best possible way.
