Mt. Ashland Private Winter Elopement in the Snow in Southern Oregon

You guys. This day was perfection.

I think we all secretly hoped we’d get snow for Holly + Jerod’s winter elopement, but instead we were gifted with a clear day, gorgeous mountain views, and a pretty incredible view of Mt. Shasta from the top of Mt. Ashland.

And honestly? I wouldn’t change a thing.

Holly + Jerod were so easygoing and completely present throughout their elopement day. They weren’t worried about putting on a huge production or throwing a massive party. They invited just a few of their closest friends and family members and focused on what the day was really about:

Celebrating their love and becoming a family.

These intimate, low-key wedding days that put the focus on the people rather than the production are seriously feeding my soul.

A Winter Elopement on Mt. Ashland

We started at the bottom of the ski park road and slowly made our way up Mt. Ashland, stopping whenever we found a spot that caught our eye.

The mountain was gorgeous.

The views were incredible.

And Holly + Jerod were completely adorable.

Holly wore the most badass pair of Sorel boots for her elopement, along with a beautiful flower crown and bouquet. She was absolutely glowing.

Jerod looked pretty dang handsome himself, and I swear he kept finding excuses to sneak a look at his bride every chance he got.

We explored, danced in the road, snuggled up under a blanket, and took in the views. It felt less like a traditional wedding day and more like a really beautiful adventure with the people they love most.

Exactly my kind of day.

The Sweetest Ceremony

Their ceremony was intimate and incredibly meaningful.

One of the moments that really got all of us was when Jerod read heartfelt vows to his new stepson. I think there were some serious tears happening all around during that one.

It was such a beautiful reminder that this wasn’t just about two people getting married. They were creating a family together.

Holly’s mother wasn’t able to make the trip from Hawaii, but she made sure she was there in a special way. She sent beautiful Hawaiian leis for Holly and Jerod to wear, and they looked absolutely gorgeous against the snowy mountain backdrop.

I loved that little connection to home and family woven into their day.

And Then We Danced

After the ceremony, we made our way back toward the parking lot, and the celebration took a wonderfully unexpected turn.

Their son, Keola, drove his car around the parking area blasting fun music, and the newlyweds danced.

In a parking lot.

On a mountain.

In the middle of their wedding day.

And it was PERFECT.

Those are the moments I want to photograph. The moments that weren’t necessarily planned or perfectly styled, but that end up becoming the memories you’ll talk about for years.

Holly + Jerod, I am SO happy I got to be there for this day. Thank you for trusting me to document such an intimate and meaningful chapter in your lives.

Your elopement was beautiful, but more than that, it was real, joyful, wildly personal, and full of love.

Congratulations to the newlyweds! ❤️
