Simone + Garrett traveled from San Diego for their mountain lake elopement in Siskiyou County. These two are adventurous to say the least, so I was stoked when they chose me to photograph such a rad day for them! They started the day in an Airbnb in Mt. Shasta with a view of the mountain for their ceremony with family. You could feel the love between these wonderful people supporting them on their special day.

After they promised forever to each other with hand written vows, they popped champagne and hugged their families and we headed out for some epic couples portraits. We started at Sisson Meadows in the city of Mt. Shasta – such a beautiful spot on a clear day! Then we headed up to Castle Lake to start our hike up to Heart Lake, a couple mile roundtrip hike into the Trinity Mountains to see this amazing view from the top. They strapped on their hiking boots and backpacks with cute “just married” signs (it’s a must, right!?) and started up the mountain with just a small group of friends.

The views along the entire hike are SO gorgeous, but the the most breathtaking view I’ve ever seen was from the back of Heart Lake, facing Mt. Shasta. HOLY COW it is epic, and I am so stoked for these two and their amazing scenic couples portraits at this spot. They even brought a bluetooth speaker and had their first dance at this amazing spot on a rock on the lake. So Sweet!

I am SO very honored to get the opportunity to photograph such unique and memorable days in people’s lives. I will never forget this day. Congrats to Simone + Garrett!
