Holy smokes, this one was dreamy intimate elopement in the Umpqua National Forest. And if rain really is good luck on your wedding day, these two are set for a lifetime of it because they got HEAPS of rain.
And you know what? They embraced every bit of it.
I was also ridiculously excited when they told me they were bringing their dog and their cat along for the adventure. Because obviously. Pets are family, and these two little sidekicks were absolutely adorable. Having them there made the day feel even more personal and perfectly them.
And then there were the two humans at the center of it all.
The joy between these two is completely contagious. Sweet glances, little giggles, playful moments, and those tiny interactions that happen when two people are genuinely crazy about each other were happening all day long. I swear I spent half the day smiling behind my camera.
They began with an intimate ceremony overlooking the river, surrounded by a handful of their favorite people. It was quiet, beautiful, and incredibly meaningful. There’s something I love so much about small ceremonies like this—no giant production, no pressure to perform. Just two people promising forever with the people who matter most standing nearby.
Afterward, we headed out to explore the Umpqua National Forest, which gave us the most incredible variety of dreamy Pacific Northwest backdrops. Towering trees, mossy woods, rushing water, and waterfalls around every corner—it was basically a photographer’s playground.
And then we arrived at Toketee Falls.
They chose to share their vows privately with the waterfall in the background, and as if the whole scene wasn’t already magical enough, it started sprinkling on us.
Instead of worrying about the weather, they just leaned into it.
They laughed. They cuddled. They held each other close. They let the rain be part of the story. And honestly? Those are my favorite kinds of couples to photograph.
Give me two people who are willing to get a little wet, wander through the woods, laugh at the chaos, and focus on each other over a perfectly polished wedding day any time. The rain didn’t take anything away from their day—it made it feel even more intimate and adventurous.
Their love is playful and fun, and capturing that kind of connection is my absolute favorite. The way they look at each other, the way they laugh together, the way they can turn a rainy Oregon day into an adventure… that’s the good stuff.
What an incredible day for an incredible couple. Rain, waterfalls, forests, pets, private vows, and so much joy. I couldn’t have dreamed up a better way to document their love story.
