Julie and Edsole are newly engaged, and I was so happy they decided to make a little trip from California to Southern Oregon for some fun engagement photos in downtown Ashland. They wanted a session that felt relaxed and playful, with a mix of downtown charm and beautiful Oregon scenery, so we explored downtown Ashland and Lithia Park.

These two were so sweet together, and their session had that cozy, easygoing feeling that makes photographing newly engaged couples so much fun. We wandered through downtown Ashland, explored the park, and captured lots of those little moments that show how happy they are to be stepping into this next chapter together.

Ashland is such a fun place for engagement photos because you can get so much variety in a relatively small area. You have charming streets and architecture downtown, followed by the gorgeous greenery and winding paths of Lithia Park. It gives a session a little bit of everything without feeling like we’re spending the entire afternoon driving between locations.

And then, naturally, we had to end with ice cream! 🍦

Was it quite chilly? Absolutely. Did that stop us? Nope.

Honestly, there’s something pretty adorable about eating ice cream together when it’s cold outside, and I’m always a fan of incorporating little things that make a session feel like you. These are the moments that make photos feel less like a photo shoot and more like a fun date you happen to have beautiful pictures from.
