The Oregon Coast is beautiful at just about any time of day, but there is something especially peaceful about being on the beach early in the morning. Natalie and Gage’s Oregon Coast engagement photos took place in Brookings, Oregon, surrounded by soft sand, dramatic rocks, breezy ocean waves, and some seriously beautiful scenery.
These two were so much fun to photograph.
They were relaxed, playful, completely comfortable together, and very clearly crazy about each other—which always makes for a pretty fantastic photography session.
An Early Morning Engagement Session in Brookings, Oregon
Brookings is such an incredible location for couples photography.
The Southern Oregon Coast has so much variety, from dramatic rock formations and rugged coastline to soft sandy beaches and driftwood.
For Natalie and Gage’s session, we had all of it.
The large rocks created dramatic backdrops while the soft sand and ocean waves gave their photos that classic Oregon Coast feeling.
And because we started early in the morning, the beach had a quieter and more peaceful atmosphere that was perfect for their session.
Playful Oregon Coast Engagement Photos
Natalie and Gage brought so much personality to their photos.
They gave each other piggyback rides.
They kissed in the sand.
They got their toes wet in the ocean.
And they snuggled together on driftwood.
Their photos weren’t about standing in one place and smiling at the camera for an hour.
We explored, moved around, and captured the natural ways these two interacted with each other.
That playful energy gave their Oregon Coast engagement photos so much life.
Neutral Outfits for Beach Engagement Photos
I also loved their outfit choices.
Natalie and Gage chose neutral colors that worked beautifully with the natural tones of the beach.
Soft colors can look especially beautiful on the Oregon Coast because they complement the sand, rocks, ocean, and often-moody skies without competing with the scenery.
Their clothing felt relaxed and natural while still looking polished in photos.
Why the Oregon Coast Is Perfect for Couples Photos
The Oregon Coast is one of my favorite places for couples photography.
Every beach has its own personality.
Some are wide and open.
Some are surrounded by dramatic rocks.
Others have huge pieces of driftwood, cliffs, or forest nearby.
And the weather is constantly changing, which means the same location can look completely different from one day to the next.
Natalie and Gage’s session had that beautiful breezy beach feeling that made the entire morning feel relaxed and fun.
A Playful Couple and a Beautiful Coastline
I seriously love this job and the people it allows me to meet.
Natalie and Gage were such a great example of why.
They trusted me, embraced the experience, and simply enjoyed spending time together.
That combination, plus one incredibly beautiful Oregon beach, made this session such a fun one.
Congratulations to Natalie and Gage! I loved getting to capture this exciting season of your lives and create these beautiful Oregon Coast engagement photos with you.
See Their Oregon Coast Elopement
Natalie and Gage’s story didn’t end with their beach session.
The next day, they celebrated their marriage with a beautiful private elopement along the Samuel H. Boardman Scenic Corridor near Brookings.
You can see their beautiful Oregon Coast elopement here and compare how dramatically the scenery changed from one day to the next!
