This engagement session was pretty rad.

Dawn + Andy chose to have their engagement photos taken right on their ranch in Etna, California—the very place where Andy proposed to Dawn.

How special is that?!

I LOVE when couples choose locations that actually mean something to them. It turns their photographs into more than just pretty pictures. The location becomes part of their story.

And this particular location had everything I could ask for.

Ranch Engagement Photos in Etna

I have a serious soft spot for ranches.

They usually come with a few things I absolutely love:

Old crusty trucks.
Horses.
Open land.
Beautiful evening light.

So obviously, I took full advantage.

We wandered around the property, incorporated some of the ranch’s character into their photographs, and let that gorgeous evening light do its thing.

And then there were Dawn + Andy.

These two are SO much fun to photograph.

They have this incredible passion for each other, and you don’t have to look very hard to see it.

They snuggled.

They kissed.

They got a little carried away with the making out.

And honestly?

Couples who are completely comfortable being lovey-dovey in front of my camera are my kind of people. 😂

I want your engagement photographs to look like you, not like you’re following a list of poses.

If that means laughing, cuddling, running around, or having a full-on make-out session in the middle of a ranch…

I’m here for it.

A One-of-a-Kind Engagement Ring

And can we talk about Dawn’s ring?!

WOW.

I absolutely LOVE unique engagement rings.

There’s something so special about a ring that doesn’t look like everyone else’s. It’s another little piece of a couple’s story and personality, and I always love finding ways to photograph those details.

But I think my favorite image from their entire session has to be the one of Dawn + Andy kissing behind the horse.

Because the horse is giving them the most incredible side-eye.
