This one was FUN.

Taylor + Jake decided on a summer evening engagement session, and they showed up ready to make some memories.

And then they got their hands on a sweet classic orange Mustang.

Well…

Obviously we had to use it.

That bright orange car made their photographs absolutely pop, and it gave the first half of their session such a fun vintage summer vibe.

Vintage Car + Summer Love

Taylor + Jake are both fantastic in front of the camera. They made the whole thing look effortless as they snuggled, kissed, laughed, and generally looked ridiculously cute together.

I also loved their simple summer outfits. Nothing overly complicated or fussy—just relaxed, classic pieces that worked perfectly with the vintage car and the warm summer setting.

We even got sprinkled on a little during this part of the session.

Because apparently the weather wanted to participate too. 😂

But the real fun was still coming.

Engagement Photos at a Self-Serve Car Wash

For the second half of their session, we headed to a self-serve car wash.

Yep.

A car wash.

And we got a little drenched.

Instead of trying to keep everything perfectly clean and posed, we decided to just have fun with it. Taylor + Jake were completely game, and we ended up with some of my favorite images from the entire session.

I especially love how much more candid and playful this part of the session feels.

They’re laughing, getting wet, messing around, and just enjoying each other.

And then there’s the photograph of Jake spraying water into the air…

That one cracks me up.

I think he meant war. 😂

This is exactly why I love doing engagement sessions that incorporate things couples actually enjoy. Your engagement photos don’t have to happen in a field at sunset while you’re standing in a series of traditional poses.

Bring the cool car.

Go somewhere fun.

Get a little wet.

Do something that feels like you.

Those are the sessions that tend to create the photographs you’ll actually remember.
