Mr. + Mrs. Day had such a fun idea for their anniversary session.
Instead of heading somewhere fancy or posing in front of a scenic landscape, they wanted something much more casual, cozy, and personal.
So we photographed them right at their A-frame home in Gold Hill, Oregon.
And I LOVED it.
These two are celebrating many years of marriage, and I think there’s something really special about choosing to document that kind of love.
Not just the engagement.
Not just the wedding.
But the years that come after.
The everyday life you’ve built together.
A Cozy Anniversary Session at Home
We started outside in their garden, picking vegetables together.
Because apparently gardening can be romantic. 😉
Then we wandered inside where these two snuggled, laughed, and danced together in the kitchen.
That’s what kitchens are for, right?!
There’s something about photographing couples in their own environment that allows their personalities to really come through. They’re not trying to create some picture-perfect version of their relationship.
They’re just being together.
And that’s exactly what I wanted to capture.
The little touches.
The familiar spaces.
The laughter.
The way they naturally interact after years of knowing each other.
These photographs aren’t about pretending to be newly in love.
They’re about celebrating the love that has lasted.
And honestly, I think that’s pretty dang beautiful.
I had SO much fun with this session and loved getting to photograph these two in a place that means so much to them.
Here’s to many, MANY more years of love, laughter, gardening, kitchen dancing, and happiness together. ❤️
