When I heard Benjamin had a sweet red Jeep Wrangler, I was immediately pumped that he was bringing it along for his senior session!

I love when senior sessions incorporate the things that make you you. Your senior photos don’t have to look like everyone else’s, and bringing along something personal, whether it’s a favorite vehicle, sport, hobby, instrument, or other passion — is such a fun way to add personality and individuality to your images.

For Benjamin’s session, we did two locations in Ashland: Lithia Park and Emigrant Lake. Having two different settings gave us a great variety of backdrops and really helped keep the gallery interesting.

And then we brought out the Jeep.

Emigrant Lake was the perfect spot for it.

The water levels at our Southern Oregon lakes have been SO sad and low lately, but thankfully, the surrounding hills and landscape still make a beautiful backdrop. We even had a little smoke hanging over the valley from the fires that season, which added a bit of atmospheric haze to some of the images.

I love that senior sessions don’t have to be all about standing in one pretty location and smiling at the camera. We can explore, change locations, incorporate the things you love, and create images that actually feel like you.

Benjamin was such a natural throughout his session, and I had a blast photographing him.

And let’s be honest, a senior session with a red Jeep Wrangler? I’m here for it.
