Bryce and Lily are some of the kindest people you’ll ever meet.

Seriously.

They’re both so genuine, warm, and sweet to be around, and I love when my couples are the kind of people I genuinely enjoy spending time with. The kind where you finish the session thinking, Man, I wish these two lived closer so we could actually be friends! ❤️

Their Yreka engagement session was definitely one for the books.

A Smoky Siskiyou County Sunset

The skies over Siskiyou County were filled with smoke during their session, but that wasn’t going to stop us from making some beautiful photographs.

The dry summer field combined with the hazy skies actually created a really cool, moody atmosphere. The landscape took on this soft, muted quality that gave their photographs a completely different look than a typical sunny summer evening.

And then we changed things up.

A Baseball-Themed Engagement Session

Bryce is obsessed with baseball, so of course we had to incorporate it into their engagement photos.

They changed outfits and we headed to the baseball field for a completely different side of their session.

Lily wore a gorgeous, flowy cream-colored dress while Bryce sported his Giants jersey, and the two of them looked fantastic together.

We got playful photographs of them hanging out around the field, snuggling on the bleachers, and kissing through the fence. We even incorporated some of Bryce’s favorite baseball gear into their details—like photographing Lily’s engagement ring with a baseball mitt and bat.

And honestly, this is exactly why I love when couples bring their personalities and interests into their sessions.

Your engagement photos don’t have to look like everyone else’s.

If baseball is a huge part of your life together, let’s photograph baseball.

If you love hiking, let’s go hiking.

If you have a favorite old truck, bring it.

If your dog is basically your child, that pup is coming too.

The best engagement sessions aren’t necessarily the ones with the fanciest locations. They’re the ones that feel like you.

And Bryce and Lily’s session absolutely did.

We got romantic portraits, playful portraits, gorgeous sunset images, baseball photos, and a whole lot of genuine laughter in between.

I had such a wonderful time with these two, and I’m so excited for everything ahead of them.
