Sometimes you randomly meet a cool human and within about five minutes realize you have a bunch of fun things in common. That was definitely the case with Nick.
We discovered that we both love motorcycles and photography, which obviously meant there was only one reasonable thing to do…
Go for a motorcycle ride and photograph each other!
Honestly, two of my favorite things in one afternoon? I was absolutely in.
This little tease of spring weather had motorcycles popping up all over the roads, and I am HERE FOR IT. There is something about that first stretch of warm weather that makes everyone suddenly want to pull their bikes out of the garage and go find somewhere fun to ride.
Nick is especially fun to photograph because he’s basically impossible not to like. He’s adorable, silly, laughs constantly, and has some seriously awesome tattoos. He’s got that badass motorcycle guy look going on, but underneath all of it he’s actually a total softie.
Which, naturally, made this session a whole lot of fun.
We photographed him with his motorcycle, capturing a mix of everything from more serious, badass portraits to playful shots that show off his actual personality. And yes, there may have been a little flipping off the camera involved.
Because apparently we needed to keep things classy.
The motorcycle was such a perfect extension of his style, and I loved the way the tattoos, bike, and landscape all worked together. It gave the photos a cool, edgy feel without making them feel overly posed.
And then we waited for sunset.
SO GOOD.
That warm evening light gave us some seriously rad portraits to finish things off. There is something about a motorcycle, a gorgeous sunset, and someone who is completely comfortable being themselves in front of the camera that just works.
What I loved most about this session, though, was how much fun we had. It wasn’t just a photo shoot. We got to ride, hang out, laugh a ridiculous amount, and create some photos along the way.
I’m realizing more and more how much I love sessions like this. People doing cool things, with cool stuff, while being completely themselves.
And I definitely want to do more of them.
