Autumn is my favorite season. Give me warm sunset light, colorful leaves, and a beautiful family, and I am one very happy photographer. The golden tones of fall just can’t be beat, especially when that evening light starts pouring across the landscape. 🍂

And this family holds an extra special place in my heart.

The Claborn family has been so wonderful to photograph over the years, and I’ve had the privilege of watching their family grow and change through so many seasons of life. I’ve been photographing them since these kiddos were still in Mom’s belly! And now look at them, teenagers!

There is something incredibly special about getting to photograph the same family year after year. You get to watch little personalities develop, see kids grow into teenagers, and document all those chapters that happen in between. It becomes so much more than just another family session.

For this session, we stayed right on the Claborn family property, which made everything feel even more personal. Their own land provided the perfect backdrop, with plenty of room to wander around and soak up that gorgeous fall scenery.

And then there was the old crusty truck.

YES.

It was exactly the kind of character-filled backdrop I love. A little weathered, a little vintage, and completely charming. It added such a fun element to the photos and gave us something unique to play with beyond the traditional family portraits.

We spent the evening exploring their property, capturing the kids together, getting some individual portraits, and soaking up every bit of that beautiful autumn light. The warm colors and golden sunset made everything feel extra cozy and nostalgic.

But honestly, my favorite part is simply seeing this family again.

I feel incredibly lucky when clients trust me to photograph them over and over throughout the years. Being invited back into people’s lives to document their families as they grow is one of the greatest gifts of this job.

The Claborns, thank you for continuing to let me be a little part of your family’s story. I absolutely love seeing you all and watching these kids grow into the amazing humans they’re becoming.
