This session was such a beautiful reminder of how deeply we love our pets and how much they truly become part of our families. 🤍 Senior dogs hold a special place in my heart.

Sam wanted to celebrate his sweet dog Emma, and I knew this would be a special one. Emma is a senior pup whose body is sadly starting to slow down, especially her hips, but her spirit was still so full of life.

And you could feel how much Sam loves her.

The bond between these two was incredibly sweet to witness. Sam is absolutely obsessed with his girl, and it was obvious that Emma has been a huge part of his life. These are the kinds of relationships that deserve to be documented, the quiet moments, the silly moments, and the memories we want to hold onto forever.

We spent their session on his family property in Ashland, Oregon, which made the perfect meaningful backdrop. There is something extra special about photographing people and pets in places that already hold memories.

And Emma?

She still had plenty of personality to show off. 🐾

She rolled around, soaked up the attention, and let her sassy side shine. Even though her older body isn’t keeping up with her happy spirit anymore, her joy was still so clear.

Of course, I cried during this session. It’s impossible not to feel emotional when you see the love between someone and their longtime companion. Dogs give us so much – years of loyalty, comfort, laughter, and unconditional love. Capturing that connection is such an honor.

These photos aren’t just pictures of a dog.

They’re memories of a best friend.

They’re reminders of the years of adventures, the goofy personalities, the snuggles, and all the little moments that make a relationship so special.

Sam, thank you for letting me be part of this incredibly meaningful day. Emma is clearly so loved, and I hope these images bring you comfort and joy for many years to come.
