As an Ashland Oregon senior photographer, one of my favorite things is getting to watch seniors grow more comfortable and confident in front of my camera.

Morgan’s story was especially fun because this wasn’t just one photography session.

We created a four-season senior session series, photographing her throughout different times of the year and watching each season bring something completely different to her photos.

And somewhere along the way, something else changed too.

Morgan went from being super shy and meek in front of my camera to becoming an incredibly confident poser.

Watching that transformation was pretty amazing.

A Four-Season Senior Photography Experience

Doing several sessions with the same senior is such a fun experience.

Instead of trying to capture everything in one afternoon, a multi-session experience allows us to create something completely different throughout the year.

Different seasons.

Different locations.

Different outfits.

Different versions of the same person during such an important season of life.

By the time we reached Morgan’s spring session, she was completely comfortable in front of my camera and knew exactly how to relax into the experience.

Her confidence had blossomed right alongside the spring flowers.

And yes, that was absolutely the perfect season for that metaphor. 🌸

Spring Senior Photos at Lithia Park

For Morgan’s spring session, we explored Lithia Park in Ashland, Oregon.

Lithia Park is especially beautiful in the spring when everything starts becoming green and vibrant again.

The flowers were blooming, the landscape was full of color, and the rocky creek gave us another completely different backdrop to work with.

One of the things I love about photographing at Lithia Park is the variety.

You can have greenery in one direction, flowers around the next corner, and beautiful rocky areas near the creek just a short walk away.

It makes it easy to create a gallery with lots of different looks without needing to travel between multiple locations.

Watching Confidence Grow

Morgan is such a sweet girl and beautiful both inside and out.

Getting to photograph her throughout this four-season series gave me the opportunity to see her become more confident with every session.

That confidence really showed in her photos.

And that’s one of my favorite parts of photography.

Sometimes people arrive at their first session feeling nervous or unsure about being photographed. But after spending a little time together, relaxing into the experience, and realizing that they don’t have to be perfect, something changes.

They start to relax.

They become more comfortable.

And eventually, they begin to see themselves differently.
