I’m pretty certain little heart emojis burst out of my eyes when I walked into the room where Rachael was getting ready on her wedding day.
You guys. Lighting is EVERYTHING.
This simple little prep room was absolutely DREAMY.
It had a gorgeous tufted chair, a light-up bar mirror, minimal clutter, and the cutest pink couch. All those little details made such a huge difference in her getting-ready photographs.
Look at how airy, bright, and crisp these images are!
It’s a great reminder that you don’t necessarily need a fancy bridal suite to get beautiful getting-ready photographs.
Good natural light + a tidy space + a few pretty details = magic.
And speaking of pretty…
Rachael’s summer wedding dress was absolutely perfect. So beautiful and so fitting for a warm Southern Oregon wedding.
And of course, we can’t forget her adorable pup who was hanging out in the prep room and managed to sneak into approximately half the photographs.
Dogs are life.
Rachael also put a lot of thought into the details she had ready for me to photograph.
Her rings were tucked into a pretty blue box along with her invitation, jewelry, perfume, shoes, garter, and vow books.
These little details might seem insignificant in the grand scheme of a wedding day, but they tell the story of the day.
And as a photographer, I LOVE when my brides gather these things together for me.
The more beautiful little details you give me to work with, the more variety we can create in your detail photographs. ❤️
Rachael + Dom have this incredible chemistry.
They’re beautiful together, but more importantly, you can feel how much they love each other.
They chose to see each other before the ceremony, so we started with a first look.
Then they privately read their vows to each other.
Dom got emotional.
And I LOVE that.
He clearly adores this woman, and watching his reaction when she read her vows was such a sweet moment to photograph.
And because Dom rides a Harley…
Obviously we had to get some photographs with that beauty.
Ow ow!
Their ceremony took place in a hay field in Eagle Point, Oregon, surrounded by all the people they love.
Everything was going beautifully as Rachael walked down the aisle with her dad.
And then…
She suddenly realized she had forgotten her bouquet.
😂
As she got closer to the back of the aisle, guests started quickly plucking flowers from the arrangements around the ceremony site and handing them to her.
Within moments, they had created a makeshift bouquet for her.
And honestly?
I think it was one of the sweetest wedding moments I’ve seen in a long time.
It wasn’t planned.
It wasn’t perfect.
It was just people who loved her jumping in to help.
And that’s the stuff I live for at weddings.
Rachael + Dom exchanged vows and rings, sealed it with a kiss, and headed off to celebrate with all their favorite people.
Of course, we had to sneak away from the reception for a few minutes as the sun started going down.
These are ALWAYS some of my favorite photographs from a wedding day.
The light gets soft and dreamy, the day starts winding down, and the newlyweds finally have a few quiet minutes to themselves.
It’s the perfect excuse to snuggle, kiss, wander around, and soak up the fact that you’re married!
Rachael + Dom, thank you for trusting me to document such an incredibly special season of your lives.
I’m continuously amazed by the wonderful couples who invite me into their lives and allow me to witness these beautiful moments.
You two were such a joy to work with, and I hope your marriage is filled with ridiculous amounts of love, laughter, adventures, Harley rides, dogs, and happy little moments.
Congratulations to Mr. + Mrs. Jones! ❤️
