My sweet friend Tiana and I love taking business branding photos of each other.
It’s a pretty great arrangement—we get updated images for our photography businesses, get to play around with new ideas, and have an excuse to catch up. It’s basically networking, except way more fun. 😉
This time, we got to take advantage of all the fresh snow that had just fallen, and OH MY GOODNESS.
Snow-covered pine trees make such a dreamy backdrop for branding portraits.
And here’s a little photographer secret: all that bright snow acts like a giant natural reflector, bouncing beautiful, soft light back onto your face. It creates really flattering light on skin tones and gives photographs that bright, clean, airy feeling.
Branding Photos Don’t Have to Be Boring
One thing I really want people to know about professional branding photography is that it doesn’t have to be stuffy.
You don’t have to stand in front of a plain studio backdrop in a blazer with your arms crossed and pretend to be serious about your business. 😂
Your branding photos should actually feel like you.
If you’re an outdoorsy business owner, let’s head outside.
If you have a beautiful workspace, let’s use it.
If you love colorful, quirky locations, let’s find one.
If you want something polished and professional, we can absolutely do that too.
The possibilities are pretty much endless.
For Tiana and me, that meant playing in the snow, using the pine trees as our backdrop, and creating images that felt fun and natural.
That’s exactly how I want branding sessions to feel for my clients, too.
Professional doesn’t have to mean boring.
I’d love to hear what you have in mind for your business and create a branding session that feels completely unique to you and what you do. ❤️
