Snowy family sessions on Mt. Ashland are definitely a favorite of mine, and this little crew made this one extra special!

First of all, these guys were SO stylish. Their winter outfits were absolutely perfect for a snowy Mt. Ashland session, right down to their little girl’s adorable cream-colored beanie with the fluffy pom on top. Add in their sweet pup, and I was basically done for. How cute can one family be?!

There is something magical about photographing families in the snow. The light is beautiful, the snow-covered trees are gorgeous, and the views across the valley can be absolutely breathtaking. Mt. Ashland gives us such a beautiful combination of mountain scenery and cozy winter vibes, making it one of my favorite spots for winter family photography in Southern Oregon.

And while the scenery was pretty incredible, this family was the real star of the show.

With a toddler and a pup in the mix, we embraced all the movement and let them simply enjoy being together. They tossed fluffy handfuls of snow into the air, danced around, explored their surroundings, shared plenty of kisses, and snuggled up together.

Those are my favorite kinds of family photos, the ones that don’t feel overly posed or perfect. The ones that capture what it actually feels like to be a family.

And honestly, toddlers and dogs are pretty much guaranteed to keep things interesting. 😂

There were plenty of sweet little moments throughout their session, and I loved getting to document this season of life for them. Their little girl was absolutely precious, and their pup was more than happy to join in on the adventure.

If you’ve never considered a snowy family photography session on Mt. Ashland, put it on your list. There’s something about bundling up, playing in the snow, and exploring the mountains together that makes for some pretty unforgettable photos.
