What a fun and playful summer engagement session this was! Raquel and Kevin are so sweet together, and I had the best time photographing their love story at Lake Siskiyou.

Summer at the lake is pretty hard to beat, especially when you have views of Mt. Shasta in the background. I will seriously never get tired of that mountain. It is SO gorgeous! The combination of the sparkling lake, towering mountain views, warm summer light, and surrounding greenery made the perfect backdrop for these two.

Raquel and Kevin were such a joy to photograph. They have that easy, playful kind of connection that makes my job ridiculously fun. There was plenty of laughing, cuddling, teasing, and all those sweet little moments that happen naturally when two people are completely comfortable together.

And then, because apparently we weren’t having enough fun already, they decided to get in the water!

I was thrilled.

Those ended up being some of my absolute favorite images from the session. There’s something about throwing the plan out the window, getting a little wet, and just having fun together that makes photos feel so much more genuine. They weren’t worried about getting their clothes wet or looking perfectly posed, they were just enjoying the moment.

And THAT is exactly what I love to capture.

I don’t want your engagement photos to feel like a two-hour modeling session where you’re constantly wondering what you’re supposed to do with your hands. I want you to laugh, move, explore, get close, and actually enjoy being together. The pretty photos happen along the way.

Lake Siskiyou gave us the perfect setting to do just that. From the gorgeous mountain views to the shoreline and the water, there was so much variety to work with, and every direction seemed to offer another beautiful backdrop.

But more than anything, I just love photographing love. I love watching couples interact, seeing the way they look at each other, and capturing all those little pieces of their relationship that make them uniquely them.

Raquel and Kevin, thank you for such a fun evening! I’m so happy I got to document this sweet season of your lives—and I’m especially glad you were willing to jump in the water!
